I've found my furever family!

Meet El Chapo! This little cutie has decided to trade his life on the run for all the joys and comforts that come with a forever family. El Chapo was part of a large group of little dogs that were dumped and had to be trapped after surviving on his own in the wild for almost 2 months. He arrived at the rescue terrified of everyone and everything. While in his foster home, he has begun to learn how to be a pet and trust people. Still slow to warm up, this little guy requires a special home that is able to continue working with him to overcome his fear. He is not recommended for a home with children under 12yrs. as he is a flight and bite risk until he becomes comfortable. He is nervous around new people, but his desire for affection wins out and he eventually enjoys snuggling up on the couch. He is not a fan of being picked up and needs someone willing to go slowly with him and continue to build on his foundational training. El Chapo does great with a friendly, active dog his size and has learned quite a bit from the other dogs in his current foster home. He’s also spent some time with a household that had a cat and did well. He has lots of young puppy energy and is discovering the joys of playing.
