Katie is a gal full of spunk, that also happens to have some lifelong medical issues. She is hopeful the right adopter will find her and accept the challenge!
Katie has been in a foster home for several months and has come a long way already. Initially, Katie will need ample time to decompress, adjust to a new routine, new noises, new everything. She will be fearful as well as anxious, but she uses her crate as her safe space. In time, Katie thrives with routine.
Katie has “fly bite” type seizures and is on medication for this. She also compulsively circles to her left. She is on medication to aid in controlling this as well. The more Katie feels comfortable and adjusts to her regular routine, the better she does in everyday life. Katie needs a patient adopter to accept her quirks and help her grow. Her forever home ideally has a fenced in yard to help her exert some of her energy! She has so much young energy and she is fast! She is a playful gal that loves to run and hang out outside in the sun (or rain really). She has even started playing fetch!! She has done well with dogs of all sizes and ages in her foster home, however does tend to play on the rougher side. Katie loves the young kiddos in her foster home, but needs reminding that she is bigger than them. Katie is very treat motivated and working on basic commands every day. She loves toys (especially crinkly ones) and bones. At times, she can be a bit protective of her food and “higher value” treats towards other humans and animals, but is working on learning there is no shortage of food. Katie is young and has a lot of life to learn and love to give. Could you be her forever home?
